Glymse helps business owners see the truth about their business, even when they are not in the shop.
These guidelines keep that truth honest and ensure everyone who touches Glymse is respected: owners, staff, customers, and suppliers.
The guidelines apply to everyone using Glymse: owners, managers, shop attendants, and anyone in our support channels or pilot groups. They are part of our Terms and Conditions.
1. Keep your records honest
Your records are only useful if they reflect what really happened.
- Do record sales, expenses and stock as they happen, or as soon as you can.
- Do correct mistakes openly using the edit tools, which keep a history.
- Don't create fake sales, expenses or stock to mislead a lender, investor, partner, landlord, tax authority or anyone else.
- Don't delete or change entries to hide theft, shortages or someone else's mistake.
- Don't present Glymse reports as audited accounts. They are your own records.
2. Respect your team
Glymse lets owners see what happens in their stores while they are away. That is meant to build trust, not fear.
- Tell your staff that their entries are visible to you before you invite them.
- Give everyone their own login. Never share one login across staff. Shared logins make it impossible to know who did what.
- Give each person only the access they need. An attendant who records sales does not need to see your profit.
- Remove access the same day someone stops working for you.
- Don't use Glymse records to humiliate staff publicly, or as the only evidence for a serious accusation. Check the facts and talk to the person first.
- Staff: record honestly, use only your own login, and don't try to reach reports or settings your role doesn't allow.
3. Respect your customers and suppliers
When you record a credit sale, an instalment plan or a credit purchase, you are keeping someone else's personal details. Treat them the way you would want yours treated.
- Record only what you need: a name, a phone number and the amount is usually enough. Never record BVN, NIN, bank details or ID card numbers in Glymse.
- Remind politely. Reminders about money owed should be private, accurate and respectful. Never debt-shame. Don't post debtor lists, names or screenshots on WhatsApp status, social media or notice boards. Don't contact a debtor's family, friends or employer about their debt. Don't threaten anyone.
- Correct or remove a customer's details when they ask and you no longer need them.
- Don't share exports with customer details except with someone who has a genuine business need, such as your accountant.
4. Lawful business only
Glymse may not be used to run or hide unlawful activity. That includes:
- fraud, Ponzi or pyramid schemes, and fake investment clubs;
- money laundering, or splitting and disguising transactions to avoid reporting;
- trade in stolen, counterfeit, smuggled or banned goods, or in regulated goods such as drugs, weapons or alcohol without the required licence;
- financing terrorism, or dealing with sanctioned people or groups.
Where the law requires it, we will report suspected crime to the appropriate authorities.
5. Protect your account and the platform
- Use a strong password and turn on the app lock under Security.
- Never share a login code or one-time password. Glymse staff will never ask you for your password or OTP.
- Don't try to access another business's data, test our security without permission, scrape the app or overload it.
- Found a security problem? Email security@glymse.com. Please don't share it publicly until we have fixed it. We welcome responsible reports.
6. In our support channels and pilot groups
During the pilot and after launch, you may join a Glymse WhatsApp group, a training session or a feedback call.
- Be respectful to other business owners and to the Glymse team.
- Don't post other people's business figures, customer details or screenshots without their permission.
- No spam, unrelated adverts, political or religious campaigning, or hateful, sexual or abusive content.
- Keep complaints about your account in a private message to support, so we can verify you and protect your data.
7. Reporting a concern
If you see misuse of Glymse, such as someone accessing records they shouldn't, debt-shaming, or a suspicious account, report it through More → Help centre or email support@glymse.com. We review every report and keep the reporter's identity confidential where we can.
8. What happens if the guidelines are broken
We respond in proportion to how serious the problem is and whether it keeps happening:
- Reminder or warning, with an explanation of what to change.
- Restriction, for example removing a team member's access or limiting features.
- Suspension of the account while we investigate.
- Closure of the account, after giving you a chance to export your records, unless the activity is unlawful.
- Reporting to authorities, where the law requires it.
If you think we got it wrong, reply to our message or email support@glymse.com. A different team member will review the decision.
We may update these guidelines as Glymse grows. We will announce important changes in the app.
